The Philadelphia 76ers (or Sixers for short) are a professional basketball team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They play in the National Basketball Association. They started in the year 1946 as the Syracuse Nationals. They joined the NBA in 1949. The 76ers have won three NBA championships.
