Nations of the Horn of Africa.
The Horn of Africa (alternatively Northeast Africa, and sometimes Somali Peninsula) is a
East Africa that protrudes for hundreds of kilometres into the
Arabian Sea, and lies along the southern side of the
Gulf of Aden.
Horn of Africa can also mean the greater region containing the countries of
Somalia. The greater region covers about 2,000,000 km² (or 772,200 square miles) and is inhabited by about 94.2 million people (Ethiopia: 79 million, Somalia: 10 million, Eritrea: 4.5 million, and Djibouti: 0.7 million).
